PROPHETS WERE INTENDED TO CORRECT THE CHURCH.

But in order to circumvent the process that GOD HIMSELF put in place to correct churches and their pastors, preachers, priests and teachers when they err, churches created false doctrines to eliminate prophets.
The purpose of a prophet is to correct the church
.
"He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself;
but he that prophesies edifies (corrects) the church."
(1-Corinthians 14:4)
..
Ever wonder why there are no prophets in your local church, when God said there were to be prophets?  The purpose of a prophet is to edify, or to otherwise correct false doctrines, and to admonish the pastors, preachers and teachers of God's Word when they err.  The problem is, most churches have adopted the false doctrine that all prophets themselves must be without error, ...or they are otherwise readily dismissed as false prophets.

However, the very doctrine used to dismiss the correction given by prophets, is what's false.  Whereas, no human being except Jesus, The Risen Christ, has ever been without mistakes!

Labelling prophets "false" allows the correction of church doctrines and admonishments of clergy that are made by God's true prophets to be ignored, and thereby allows churches to avoid the very process which GOD HIMSELF has ordained to correct them.

Therefore, by claiming there are no "true" prophets, because they can point to at least "one" of the prophet's errors:  False doctrines and teachings are free to become epidemic!  Which is exactly what has happened in our churches.

Whereas, the Scripture we cite below documents that Jesus said that Moses made mistakes, and in fact Scripture confirms that every prophet in history, to include Moses, Isaiah, and Ezekiel, just to name a few, have all made serious mistakes.

Let's use Scripture to examine the false church doctrine that prophets never make mistakes, by applying that doctrine to Moses.

First, let's establish that Moses was indeed The Lord's prophet..

"And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face ..."   (Deuteronomy 34:10)
Now, take note that at the time The Most High God made the above statement, HE KNEW that Moses had already in fact altered His (The Lord's) Law, so as to please the people.

Read what Jesus Himself said about it..

"They (the Pharisees) said unto Jesus, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her (men's wives) away?

He (Jesus) said unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so."    (Matthew 19:7-8)

So, Moses the prophet actually altered God's Laws to suit himself, so he could please the hard hearted people of his day:  GOD HIMSELF obviously knew this:  And STILL referred to Moses as His greatest prophet.

Please keep in mind that God's Laws are "carved in granite", and that He has never altered them for any person, nor for any reason.  Therefore, it was MOSES who changed God's Law to suit himself.  God did not TELL him to do it,  Moses did it on his own !!

As Jesus put it: Moses said you could divorce your wives because of the hardness of your (people's) hearts."

Therefore, according to most church doctrine, MOSES' mistake made him a false prophet !

Also consider the fact that six hundred years after his death, recorded history tells us that scores of monestary scribes were still working round the clock, editing "conflicts" out of Isaiah's writings.

Moreover, if you consider the date Ezekiel was born, the date he died, and the "time of his prophecies",  you will come to realize that Ezekiel prophesied the upcoming forty year war with Egypt at a point in time after the subject war had already been raging for twenty years.

So, shall we also call Isaiah and Ezekiel false prophets?

No, of course not, because we just proved with GOD'S own words, that HE knows his prophets make mistakes.

The bare fact is that America's churches adopted the "prophets never make mistakes" doctrine to make it less likely that its people would accept any prophecy or otherwise edification/correction issued against it by The Lord's prophets, because they could always claim "the guy's a false prophet" because of this or that which he once said in error.

So, where are the true prophets of today?
In spite of the fact that Christ said He would send prophets:  If you ask your pastor that question, he'll most likely tell you that prophets have been done away with.  Basically meaning that there is no one, and no reason, to admonish or correct him or the powers that exist within the church system, by falsely claiming that in order to be a true prophet of God, all prophets must be perfect.  Whereas neither churches nor pastors can afford to be corrected in this day and age, because much of what they say is unfortunately not beneficial for you and your walk with the Lord, nor does it hold any eternal value.  It's all for earthly vanity, which will soon be swept away..

"Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city."   (Jesus, in Matthew 23:24)
Where then, are the prophets Jesus promised ??
.
And how can you tell a TRUE prophet from a false one ??
First off, the only Scriptural way to scrutinize any prophet is to compare what he has said or written to SCRIPTURE.  If what he has said or written "squares" with at least several verses of Scripture, you best pay attention.
Now, let's apply the above to the hundred and sixty or so prophecies accurately issued in public, in writing, as much as eighteen years in advance by Vince Diehl, then consider that because he prophesied that a famine "will be on our soil" by the end of the year 2006, many called him a false prophet.  However, they failed to consider that he was not exactly wrong in his 2006 declaration, because, if you look back, that is the year when all of America's problems with its food supply began..
Bought any ground beef,  lettuce,  spinach,  chicken,  peanut butter,  canned chili,  beef stew,  chili sauce,  corned beef hash,  beef gravey,   frozen catfish,  BBQ beef,  oysters,  clams,  mussels,  fish fillets,  pancake or waffle mix,  raisins,  four bean salad,   tooth paste,  or even dog food lately ?.
To start with, we have always told our readers that this is one report, issued in a given year, and that a second report would come in another year:  Knowing full well that this remark would make no sense to many.  Although our declaration was in fact Scriptural..
"And I will punish Bel (materialism) in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of its mouth that which it hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto it: yea,  the wall (protection) of Babylon shall fall.

My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.

Now, lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the report that shall be heard in the land; a report shall both come one year (in 2006), and after that in another year shall come a report (2008), with violence in the land (just look at all the murders in the evening news), with ruler against ruler (it will happen in an election year).  (Jeremiah 51:44-46)

Perhaps it will now all make sense, because Vince Diehl has recently issued a second prophecy of famine.  This one, that a massive, full blown, famine will be in the United States before George W. Bush leaves office.  And this one, supported by your evening news!.

Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.
.
They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourneth unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth it to heart.
.
The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness:  for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
.
They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.   (Jeremiah 12:10-13)
.

Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
.
Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
.
For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD:  but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
.
And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.   (Zechariah 11:4-7)
